Good to see ya, thanks for comin'

Those words almost rivaled the You are an IRONMAN at the end of the race. The announcer at the Dublin Marathon loved to say Good to see ya, thanks for coming and Well done, lads and brilliant!

I decided at the airport I wanted to actually run the marathon with everyone. How great would that be? Not fully trained, not packed to run. Not to mention I had consumed more alcohol two days before the race than I had water in the entire week prior. Oops.

Sadly I was a day late and a dollar short...I missed registration by a day. As Dr. B says, it's probably better for my body not to have run...yada yada yada, bla bla bla. My first time in Ireland, why not run a marathon to celebrate? Oh well, as I watch all my friends waddle around and flinch on the stairs I guess I got the better end of the deal. But still...I would have run if I could have gotten in.

I am in Galway now. Dublin was nice, but I already like this town better. Pretty much Dublin is the big town hussle and bussle of Mpls or Chicago but slightly better accents, less sidewalk space, and crazier drivers. I loved the double decker busses. They remind me of the Harry Potter movie. I haven't been going camera crazy, but I have some good pictures. Pat of Crash n' Numb Toes had taken 200 pics in the first two days...I had taken maybe 20 and I was pretty proud of that.

Anywhoozle. We are traveling in a smaller group now, mostly just Speedy G and I, occasioncally adding Dr. B and her mom. I much prefer to be in a smaller contingent where we can actually talk to people rather than big, bousterous American cliches bumbling around.

Good to see ya, thanks for comin'!
